In 2019 and the year prior, DeKalb County School District was awarded the Golden Radish Award, which is given to educational agencies in Georgia that dedicate extraordinary work to farm-to-school initiatives. During the 2018-2019 school year, the district implemented Supper After School, through which it served 4,348 suppers to students. During summers, it provides meals for schools as well as DeKalb parks and recreation programs.
