Last year, 3M Center made changes in its cafeterias, including the use of an innovative cooking oil filtration system that extends the life of cooking oil and recycles waste oil into biodiesel. 3M also adopted eco-friendly food containers that can either be recycled or tossed in compost bins. To-go containers in its Building 222 cafe are made from sugarcane and are 100% compostable. It eliminated all plastic water bottles from catering services in April and unveiled Mindful Mondays to promote awareness about the positive nutritious options available, such as fruits, vegetables and whole grains.
