The hospital began purchasing more food processed in Michigan, such as fresh blueberries and asparagus. The development of its Beau to Go program enables patients to purchase food that can be taken home. And to address food insecurity, the hospital ensures that food is sent home with patients upon discharge so they can continue healthy diets.
