Proudest career accomplishment in the past year:
Helping to grow our catering business, Red Door Catering, by creating a strong digital presence. I’ve also grown our resident dining social media followers by 61%, which has paved the way for stronger connections and interaction with our student customers.
What drew you to noncommercial:
It’s very different from a standard restaurant. The students, faculty, and staff at Muhlenberg are not just customers; we are part of a wonderful campus community. Students tell me that our employees feel like family to them, and they are grateful to share three meals every day with them. I also love being surrounded by academia!
Most valued trait in a workplace:
I value a positive work environment. I am constantly grateful for whom I work for and the people I work with. I am always learning and growing from them.
How the industry will change:
I think there will be a strong focus on sustainability and a significant rise in plant-based dining. As a marketer, there has already been a shift for me to focus on communicating our efforts through technology and other more sustainable practices.
