The nutrition team at Ashtabula Area City Schools in Ashtabula, Ohio, visited local farms during an in-service day to get an inside look at the farm-to-table process, Star Beacon reports.
The trip was organized by the district’s foodservice director, who said that it would allow the team to have a firsthand look at the farms' day-to-day operations. Around 50 staff members visited two local farms and were also served lunch made up of mostly local ingredients from six area farms.
