Orange County Schools’ students now have more input when it comes to what’s being served on their cafeteria menus.
The North Carolina district recently debuted its “Try Day Friday” program, which allows students to sample new dishes and vote on whether they should be added to the breakfast and lunch menus, reports wral.com.
The program, which is funded by a grant from the Kohl's Cares Foundation—an organization that supports children’s health and education—aims to incorporate meals that meet the current national nutrition standards but can be prepared in short timeframes and within tight budgets.
