US Foods said it has agreed to acquire fellow broadline distributor Renzi Foodservice, a move that will provide the buyer with a distribution hub in central New York.

The purchase will bring another 2,300 accounts into US Foods’ fold.  Renzi’s customers include independent restaurants, healthcare facilities, schools, government organizations and convenience stores. They are serviced out of a 110,000-square-foot facility in Watertown, N.Y.

Renzi has annual revenues of about $180 million, according to US Foods. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“We look forward to welcoming the Renzi team to US Foods as we continue to deliver on our long-range plan and enhance our position with new and existing customers throughout the region,” US Foods CEO Dave Flitman said in a statement.

The acquisition is US Foods’ first since April 2020.

Pending regulatory approval, the deal is scheduled to close in the third quarter.
