University gives growing Asian population an authentic option

Boston University has opened a new foodservice station that aims to provide traditional Asian cuisine, according to The Boston Globe.

After BU chefs consulted specialists from the Culinary Institute of America about Asian dishes—and studied Asian cookbooks and restaurant websites—the university responded to feedback from its growing Asian student population with a station that features Korean kimchi, Szechwan chicken and Vietnamese beef rice noodle soup.

The authentic cuisine project debuted last month to a long line of students in the Warren Towers dining hall, reports the Globe, serving a rotating menu of recipes from Singapore, China, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia.
