Mich. university aims to privatize foodservice to cut costs

In an effort to cut costs, Eastern Michigan University is looking to contract a foodservice vendor, reports mlive.com.

The Ypsilanti, Mich., university is currently accepting bids from vendors who, if chosen, would provide foodservices for several on-campus eateries including the university commons and dining halls, six Eagle Cafes, and catering and concessions for athletic events.

"EMU is seeking a partner that will invest in the facilities and future as well as provide EMU a financial return to help sustain the program," according to a proposal by EMU.
