Ga. district revamps lunch menus using student feedback

After soliciting feedback from student focus groups last fall, Gwinnett County Public Schools has revamped its lunch menus.

Changes include reducing the amount of pasta served, rotating menus more often (every three weeks instead of four) and featuring those menus on a mobile application, reports the Gwinnett Daily Post.

Officials say their goal was to serve appealing meals to students while meeting the current federal nutrition standards.

“It’s nutritious, however, if they don’t eat it, then we’re not fulfilling our responsibility,” Chef Rachel Petraglia, the district’s culinary coordinator, told the website.
