University launches tablets in dining halls

University of Connecticut in Storrs, Conn., has added tablets to two of its dining halls, The Daily Campus reports.

Placed at the dining halls’ entrances, the tablets increase the speed at which students can swipe in and allow staff to quickly identify students.

“I’ve had a lot of students in the past that I’ve taken IDs from because they used another student’s ID,” a dining hall employee told The Daily Campus. “Since we’ve started [using the tablets], we’ve dramatically cut down on students using other IDs.”
