Sacred Heart University is debuting a stand-alone ‘50s-style diner on its campus, according to the school's website.
JP’s Diner will serve classic diner fare for breakfast, lunch and dinner, including burgers, patty melts, milkshakes and club sandwiches. The space has indoor and outdoor seating for up to 140 guests, and students at the Fairfield, Conn., school will be able to pay for meals with their dining dollars.
JP's will be an option for late-night dining, staying open until 3 a.m. during the weekends, and will also offer a takeout menu. Chartwells, the university’s foodservice vendor, plans to hire students for a majority of the diner’s positions.
