Eat Club, a corporate food delivery company, has expanded to New York City.
The company raised $30 million last year, led by Sodexo, to fund the expansion.
Launched in San Francisco and Los Angeles in 2010, Eat Club allows employees to order lunch to their workplace via mobile or online. Employees can choose from hot and cold entrees such as beef short-rib burrito bowls, Tex-Mex shrimp salad and soba noodle bowls with tuna. New York City users will also be able to choose from meals prepared by restaurant partners such as Just Salad and Potbelly. The meals can be ordered up to a week in advance.
“Eat Club’s strong business model and technology platform make them a good strategic fit for us,” Mark Bickford, CEO of corporate services for Sodexo North America, said in a statement. “We are excited to learn from their success, particularly in helping us enhance flexibility and agility, and ultimately increase growth in this important market.”
Eat Club says it plans to expand to more U.S. cities in the future.
