The School Nutrition Association (SNA) has submitted comments supporting the proposed school meal flexibilities introduced by the United States Department of Agriculture earlier this year.

In the comments, the SNA praised the proposals to simplify meal service, saying that it will give schools the opportunity to serve more seasonal and locally grown vegetables, increase the variety of dishes on school menus, offer more lean protein options at breakfast and boost student water consumption.
