Cherokee County School District in Canton, Ga., is hosting a parent recipe contest in celebration of National Farm-to-School Month, the Cherokee Tribune and Ledger-News reports.

The district partnered with a local nonprofit to host the contest. Submitted recipes must include spinach (an ingredient chosen by the nonprofit), use no more than six ingredients and can’t include frying or grilling.

School board members and others in the community will review the recipes and decide the winner.

The parent who submits the winning recipe will receive a $100 Visa gift card, and their dish will be served to students during National School Lunch Week held in October.

Many schools use recipe contests to ideate new recipes and engage students and parents. Boulder Valley School District in Colorado, for example, hosts a student cooking competition each year.
