A Pennsylvania lawmaker announced that she will introduce legislation to make school meals free for all students.

The bill is being introduced by Sen. Lindsey Williams who acts as the Minority Chair of the state’s Senate Education Committee.

For the past two years, school nutrition programs across the country have been able to offer free meals to all students using a series of nutrition waivers issued by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Those waivers expired earlier this summer.

Some states, including Massachusetts and Vermont, have decided to include funding in their state budgets to continue offering free meals to students for another school year.
