The cafeteria staff at several UnitedHealthcare offices around the country are providing meals for people in need in their community.
Cafeteria staff at offices in Minneapolis, Las Vegas, Greensboro, N.C., and others will be preparing hot and cold meals such as chicken Parmesan, seasoned rice and steamed carrots as well as boxed lunches that include a variety of sandwiches, fresh fruit, chips and water. The meals will then be distributed to the community through local partners.
The idea for the meals came from leaders at UnitedHealth Group and its foodservice partner, Compass Group, who wanted to find a way to still allow cafeteria staff to work after many UnitedHealthcare employees began working from home.
