With Valentine’s Day and other food-centric holidays around the corner, February is the perfect time to showcase indulgent items. From National Pizza Day to Super Bowl Sunday—here are six marketing opportunities in the coming weeks.
Black History Month (All month)
To honor Black History Month last year, the University of Texas at Dallas showcased recipes from the Sweet Home Cafe Cookbook, a compilation of recipes from the cafe at the National Museum of African American History and Culture. The menu featured hickory smoked barbeque chicken, collard greens, yellow cornbread and baked macaroni and cheese.
Super Bowl Sunday (Feb. 12)
Highlight sports-bar inspired fare as diners gear up to root for their favorite team. Last year, American University did just that by serving up nachos, Buffalo chicken and cauliflower and mac n cheese pizza at the Terrace Dining Room. In addition, the university offered a special promotion on chicken from its Absurd Bird location. The deal offered 12 chicken tenders with double fries and two drinks for $12.99.
Valentine’s Day (Feb. 14)
To celebrate last year, Dillard University hosted a “Breakfast with Bae” event featuring an array of breakfast foods that students could enjoy for the price of $15 per two students. The celebration didn’t stop there—later that evening, students were invited to have a Valentine’s Day dinner for two for $20.
