Following the recent school shooting in Florida, our Superintendent received a lot of comments from concerned parents and staff. He approached me and asked for Sodexo's support to feed law enforcement officers in our community for free. The goal is to allow enforcement officers to build relationships with our students and staff over a meal and become familiar with the operations of a school. Staff were excited with the idea and I received many positive comments. They have invited our guests into buildings and reminded them a free meal is waiting in the cafeteria. To date, we have served a few courtesy meals. We are considering charging a nominal fee for the meal since enforcement officers are not allowed to take gratuities.
