A petition with more than 1,000 signatures has circulated on a Mississippi campus, calling for the university to rethink its contract with Aramark.

Officials say there was not enough participation to offset the lack of funding received when participating in the federal program.

Tukwila School District is seeking federal grant money to provide free breakfast, lunch and dinner to all students, even if they do not qualify for free or reduced-price meals.

The menu revamp will start next month and seeks to especially impact the high school level, where officials say participation has seen the biggest decline.
