Ore. high school’s new food cart to provide flexible lunch options

The food cart aims to provide alternative meal options for students who want to leave campus for lunch, officials say.

Officials hope ‘Dine and Dash’ will provide on-the-go students with more meal options before and during school.

More than 400 students recently sampled potential menu items, including egg rolls, breakfast breads and apple pie.

Students can win prizes by participating in the 20/20 Fruit and Veggie contest, which encourages healthy eating habits, officials say.

The proposed legislation would require school districts to locally source 10 percent of their food by December 2019.

One FSD at a New York school district has gotten her students to eat kale by using marketing slogans like, “What doesn’t kale you makes you stronger.”

The new layout hosts a collection of five mini-restaurants that feature healthy options.

Officials say the program will help eliminate clerical errors.
