Senate cafeteria workers secure $13.30 wage

After campaigning for a higher minimum wage, the Senate Cafeteria workers signed a new contract that raises their pay to $13.30 an hour.

Cafeteria staff in other jobs, such as cooks, will have a higher minimum wage, according to The Washington Post.

Though the wage falls short of the $15 cafeteria staff advocated for some workers, the new contract with Restaurant Associates—the foodservice vendor that manages the Senate Cafeteria—was signed Monday, according to The Washington Post.
