US Foods on Monday announced the launch of a new tech solutions program designed to give healthcare, acute-care and senior-living operators access to tools to meet their most critical challenges.

The US Foods VITALS program provides resources to improve operational efficiency, manage labor and staffing, increase revenues, and enhance patient and resident satisfaction. According to US Foods, 70% of healthcare operators report that improving employee training and retention and managing waste are top challenges. In addition, more than 65% report customer satisfaction as another key obstacle they face.

“Through an assortment of industry-leading business, menu and e-commerce solutions, we offer operators access to the latest technology and operational expertise to deliver the right solutions for the individual needs of their business, and patients or residents,” Rob Burkart, vice president of national sales field operations for US Foods, said in a statement.

US Foods consultants will work directly with operators to create the set of tech solutions that best meets their goals. Included in the VITALS program are proprietary tools to assess labor costs and staffing patterns for a variety of foodservice positions, implement cost savings and productivity strategies, and personalize menus to meet the individual needs of residents and patients.
