Logan Regional Hospital in Logan, Utah, is banning the sale of sugary beverages and snacks in its vending machines, gift shops, pharmacies and cafeterias, The Herald Journal reports.
Starting March 1, the hospital will replace high-sugar items like soda with such options as milk and granola bars.
Employees and guests will still be able to bring their own beverages and snacks.
The hospital first announced its desire to ban food items with excessive sugar earlier this year, citing the negative effects sugar has on the body.
So far, it says that it hasn’t received any feedback from hospital visitors and that employees have accepted the change.
