Colleges add c-store delivery

Colleges in five states have partnered with 7-Eleven and a third-party service to offer delivery of ready-to-eat foods from the c-store chain to on-campus students.

The students will be charged a $2.99 fee to have Slurpees, chicken wings, pizzas, sandwiches and other foods delivered to the doors of their on-campus housing facilities, 7-Eleven jointly announced today with its partner in the venture, Tapingo.

Other products from nearby 7-Elevens can also be delivered.

Tapingo, an app-based delivery service, already offers delivery on about 100 college campuses from such restaurant chains as Chipotle Mexican Grill and Taco Bueno. The new arrangement adds 7-Eleven’s specialties to the mix of options.

The deal extends to selected colleges in California, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Arizona and Maryland.
