Chartwells Higher Ed has acquired foodservice management company Fresh Ideas, a move that Chartwells says will help boost its presence in regional markets.

Missouri-based Fresh Ideas will continue to operate with its same branding and leadership in place, according to Chartwells.

While Chartwells Higher Ed runs dining departments at more than 300 colleges and universities across the country, Fresh Ideas’ accounts are primarily located in the South, Southeast and Midwest, and also include operations in segments such as K-12 and senior-living.

"We look forward to the partnership and the learnings both companies will bring as we continue to create one of kind dining experiences on the campuses we serve," Lisa McEuen, CEO of Chartwells Higher Ed, said in a statement.
