A bipartisan bill introduced in Minnesota would create an annual grant program designed to encourage schools to use local food, MPR News reports

The program would use $2 million to fund a grant that would reimburse schools who use local ingredients based upon the number of meals served.

A similar bill was introduced in 2017 but was not included with the state’s final spending bill.
