Texas district receives buy-in from students to drive menu changes

After receiving feedback from more than 400 students, Navarro Independent School District is using that buy-in to revamp its lunch menu for the next school year, reports the Seguin Gazette.

The Seguin, Texas, district recently held a health fair where students, parents and community members taste-tested potential menu items, including egg rolls, breakfast breads and apple pie.

Officials say the goal of the fair was not only to show that healthy food can be appetizing, but to make students aware of the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle, according to the Gazette.
