Grant funds new cafeteria dedicated to sustainability and healthy eating

A Denver elementary school received grant money to help remodel its cafeteria to include a recycling and composting station, and to provide enhanced nutrition education.

A Connecticut school board said that although opting out of the program would cost the district close to $150,000 in federal reimbursements, it risked losing even more money by staying in and following USDA regulations.
