Sodexo Live! has debuted a new grab-and-go concept at Salt Palace Convention Center in Utah that will allow customers to purchase items without physically checking out.

The autonomous concept, dubbed Salt Shaker Grab-and-Go, uses technology from company AiFi and will sell a variety of sandwiches, pastries, coffees and more.

“By ushering AiFi into the meetings and conventions world, we’re putting our attendees first by expanding their payment options and giving them new ways to experience and enjoy their time with us,” Greg Fender, executive vice president of Sodexo Live! North America, said in a statement.

Adoption of cashierless retail concepts has grown as consumers get more comfortable with them and AI technology has become more ubiquitous.

Chartwells, for example, partnered with Standard AI on its effort to open 100 autonomous concepts on college campuses across the U.S. And last spring, retail giants Amazon and Instacart brought their respective cashierless checkout systems to Major League Baseball parks.
