Wisconsin hospitals talk healthier cafeteria food

State hospitals and healthcare facilities are looking to add some healthier food options to the table, by way of the first ever Healthy Hospitals & Clinics Forum: Healthy Food and Beverages in Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics.

More than 100 healthcare representatives met in Madison on Friday, to talk about improving nutrition in their cafeterias.

Organizers stressed what they call "The Healthy Hospital Concept", which aims to make healthy eating choices the easiest eating choices.

"For some hospitals, it might mean taking out their deep fryers and not using that oil anymore.  It might mean removing sugar-sweetened beverages, and really promoting water,", says American Family Children's Hospital Director of Child Health Advocacy, Nan Peterson.
