University of Maryland weighs options for food pantry

The university’s initiative is part of the Keep Me Maryland campaign, an emergency financial aid fund.

COLLEGE PARK, Md.—Despite leading the University of Connecticut Huskies to the NCAA championship title, Shabazz Napier said he sometimes goes to bed “starving” because he can’t afford food, according to an April 8 Washington Post article.

And he is not the only college student struggling with food insecurity. What do you think?

After Napier’s announcement, renewed attention on the issue is prompting this university to consider opening a food pantry.
