UCCS students pay more as food prices go up

Beef, pork, poultry and milk will be some the foods affected.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Food prices will be worth paying attention to this year both on and off campus.

As UCCS moves to replace Sodexo in May, campus officials contend prices will be competitive despite higher prices expected this year locally and across the nation.

“Dining Services will have to pay more for many items, especially protein and produce, and for some time to come,” said Mark Hayes, director of the university’s Dining and Food Services.
