Schools targeted by hungry burglar

NATCHEZ, Miss. — Saturday night, a seemingly hungry burglar broke into the Ferriday Junior High School cafeteria.

The break in resulted in a shattered window and several stolen snacks.

Ferriday Junior High School Principal Arlana Davis said the Ferriday Police Department has no suspects connected to the incident, which occurred around 11 p.m. Saturday.

Also, according to Ferriday Police Department records, Ferriday Lower Elementary SChool was also burglarized Saturday.

However, Bobbie Hinson, principal of Ferriday Lower Elementary, said Wednesday she was unable to comment on the report.

Davis said this time is the first in her three years as principal that the school has been burglarized.

"They used some type of blunt oject ot shatter the window," Davis said. "No major things were taken — just a few minor items, like snacks."

Since the break in, Davis said the Concordia Parish School District has replaced the window, which cost $50.
