March 14—Out of 2,000 full-time hospital employees it was a foodservice worker who was named Adventist Hinsdale (Ill.) Hospital's employee of the year for 2012.
Five days a week,Dionte Farmer politely knocks on doors and delivers meals to patients. He always gets his fair share of compliments and he’s pretty sure he knows why.
“A lot of people, especially some of the elderly women, say I have a really nice smile,” said Farmer. “I think it helps put people in a good mood.”
Farmer joined the hospital in 2009 when his brother, who also works in food service, urged him to apply for a job.
