Calif. schools convene meeting of minds for new school regs

Sept. 26—Foodservice employees from 21 California counties, came together to share ideas and recipes relating to the new school meal regs.

The counties included Alameda, San Mateo, San Francisco and Marin. The two-day conference, called "Rethinking School Lunch," was organized by the Berkeley-based Center for Ecoliteracy. The conference, held at the Oakland Museum of California, covered everything from innovative ways to buy local food for school meals to the nutritional benefits of scratch cooking.
