Okla. school board hires Sodexo over OPAA!

After hearing presentations from the two cafeteria-management companies, the Skiatook School Board voted unanimously to hire Sodexo, due to its values of wellness and sustainability.

In addition to its new Fresh Market cafeteria, Mississippi State University has added Moe’s Southwest Grill and Insomnia Cookies to its roster of campus food options.

Two dozen full- and part-time kitchen and cafeteria workers throughout the Somerset and Somerset Berkley Regional school districts will remain district employees rather than have their positions outsourced to new foodservice provider Chartwells.

“Hospitals should be a role model,” says the clinic’s spokeswoman, Eileen Sheil, explaining the move to rid the premises of the fast-food chain after 20 years.

After solely working with Aramark for two years, the clinic has tapped Sodexo to lead foodservice for its main campus and children’s hospital.

An outpost of the fast-casual restaurant known for its Asian-inspired cuisine opened its doors this week at Arizona State University.

The vendor was chosen to feed the 1 million-plus people expected to gather for the Pope’s visit during the 2015 World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia.

The curated collection of menu items will launch this fall, featuring city restaurants such as Big Star, Publican Quality Meats, Frontier and more.

The foodservice vendor officially took over dining services for the U.S. House of Representatives Monday, closing a number of cafeterias for construction while posting new signs and decorations on cafeterias that remained open.
