Q: What preparation goes into your themed events?
A: We put a lot of effort into working with relevant campus groups from the beginning of our planning stages so we can have decor, music and even speakers and other programming that fit into the theme. We're lucky to have a culinary team that includes chefs (and even line cooks) from around the globe, or who have traveled extensively as part of their training, so we already have in-house expertise with countless culinary styles and recipes.
Another way we're lucky is that our students come from all over the world, and they're not shy about sharing favorite dishes from their cultures, including specialties from their hometowns. Students are our greatest resource! Many of our themes come directly from them; they’re eager to plan, and they’re in tune. And they help us to avoid past missteps in bringing authenticity to the table.
