When given a list of different menu attributes such as value and visual appeal, the most appealing to boomers were taste and quality. Over two-thirds of boomers (70%) say a dish’s taste is the most important factor when deciding whether to visit a restaurant. Food quality is also a major driver for boomers, with 68% saying that determines their choice of restaurant.
Boomers are the generation most interested in American and Italian cuisine, with 71% saying they order both at least occasionally. Mexican cuisine follows closely behind: 66% of boomers say they purchase a Mexican dish at least once every three months.
