Aramark has teamed up with Monumental Sports & Entertainment to provide hospitality services for District E Powered by Ticketmaster, a close to 14,000-square-foot venue that will house esports competitions as well as music, community events and other programming.
District E will be located near Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., where the Washington Wizards and the Washington Capitals play. In addition to an esports competition studio and practice area, it will house a bar and restaurant run by Aramark.
“As Aramark’s first foray into the rapidly-growing esports space, this is an exciting opportunity to showcase our expertise in food and beverage innovation to esports fans while also creating jobs and further building Aramark’s presence in the Greater Washington Metropolitan region,” Alison Birdwell, president and CEO of Aramark Sports and Entertainment, said in a statement.
The venue is expected to be completed in fall 2022.
