For National Nutrition Month we wanted to include the community in the hospital's yearly event by doing supermarket tours. Each dietitian took a small group around the store to talk about nutrition labels, healthy foods, and exotic fruits, vegetables and grains that people may not have tried before. We also give them an aisle-by-aisle pamphlet that pointed out healthy choices.
