We use a nutrition labeling system called Mission: Nutrition, based on the number of fat grams per serving. The labels have colored dots that correspond to the colors of a stoplight. We chose color-coding as an at-a-glance method for students to use to make healthy choices. A red dot means the item has 13.01 grams or more of fat; yellow means it has 5.01 to 13 grams; and green means it has 5 grams or less.
