For Healthy Awareness Week, I went into 18 classrooms with samples of fresh fruit, carrot sticks and a newsletter covering healthy topics, physical activities you can do with your parents, a word search and a healthily recipe. I try to capture the elementary students so they can look at me as a role model and mentor. Someone visiting their school with a white chef coat on might influence them and create some talk at the dinner table with mom and dad.
