Binghamton University names new dining services general manager

Jim Ruoff to oversee university dining operations.

Jim Ruoff has been appointed general manager for New York’s Binghamton University dining services, which is managed by Sodexo. Ruoff will be responsible for overseeing all components of the university student dining program, a university press release reports.

Ruoff began his foodservice career while a student at Allegheny College. According to the release, he has served in various roles in dining services at several Mid-Atlantic higher education institutions, including Bucknell University, Franklin & Marshall College, the University of Maryland Baltimore County and, most recently, Le Moyne College, in Syracuse, N.Y.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is serving free meals to students in North Carolina who were affected by Hurricane Florence.

Students in the disaster area will be able to receive the free meals through Oct. 26. The government says that the meals will potentially benefit 31 districts and more than 284,000 students.
