W.V. district celebrates Farm-to-School Month

In celebration of Farm to School Month, two Fayette County Schools served lunches made with locally sourced foods, according to The Register-Herald.

Last Friday, students at Ansted and Mount Hope elementary schools ate lunches consisting of baked chicken, roasted potatoes, green beans and corn bread.

"The cafeteria managers and cooks at these two schools volunteered to prepare this meal. Fresh, local food tastes better and is more nutritious, but takes more work to prepare, so we appreciate their efforts," David Seay, the district’s nutrition director, told the Herald.
