Local rivalries were recently set aside in Virginia so that the foodservices of two colleges could lend support to a third.
During the reopening of two dining venues, Sweet Briar got some help from nearby Bridgewater College and Washington and Lee University.
“It was a group effort with the schools, helping with everything from scratch,” Grace Hoyer, public-relations manager at Parkhurst, told FoodService Director. Parkhurst is the contracted manager of Sweet Briar. “We provided Sweet Briar with marketing support, catering guides, getting their menus and setting up their dining.”
Other local parties contributed to Sweet Briar’s quick turnaround as well, Hoyer added.
