University rolls out wellness meals

In an effort to reach campus-wide wellness goals put forth by its BHealthy initiative, Binghamton University has rolled out BHealthy Wellness Meals.

The meals—made by BU’s foodservice vendor, Sodexo—can be found in each of the school's dining halls during all dayparts. Each meal includes protein, whole grains, fruits, vegetables and low-fat diary, according to a release.

"There are tremendous benefits to eating a balanced diet like increased energy, enhanced concentration and focus, improved immune function, mood and ability to manage stress," Alexa Schmidt, Sodexo dietitian at the Binghamton, N.Y., university, said in a release.
