S.D. district sees breakfast participation increase 126%

Brandon Valley School District has seen a 126 percent increase in the number of students eating breakfast since starting a new program this year, reports Keloland.com.

BVSD serves breakfast before school and offers a second chance to eat less than one hour into the day.

"It's an opportunity for those who are rushed at home because we know what it's like getting kids ready and getting to work in the morning. Some people just don't want to eat right away when they wake up. They need a little bit of time before they can put food in their mouth," Brandon Valley Child Nutrition Director Gay Anderson said.
