Researchers ask hospital cafeterias to be like Chipotle

Researchers at the University of California, San Francisco are asking hospital cafeterias to be more like Chipotle and phase out their use of antibiotic-loaded meat, reports Ars Technica.

In a recent article published in the American Journal of Public Health, UCSF experts called on hospital cafeterias to stop purchasing meat from farms that give their animal’s antibiotics, citing “life-threatening” infections to those who eat or touch the meat.

Experts also said the move could preserve the “effectiveness” of antibiotics, reports Technica.
