Report: Joe Biden to select Tom Vilsack as U.S. Secretary of Agriculture

President-elect Joe Biden plans to select Tom Vilsack as U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, sources close to the Biden administration told Politico

Vilsack served as agriculture secretary for eight years in the Obama administration, during which he oversaw the rollout of The Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act championed by Michelle Obama. 

Vilsack's role in the administration is expected to be formally announced this week. Representative Marcia Fudge and Senator Amy Klobuchar were among others thought to be top contenders for the position
